Equality Objectives
Our school is an inclusive school. We aim to make our teaching fully inclusive where all pupils feel included in all activities. We recognise the entitlement of all pupils to a balanced, broadly-based curriculum. We have systems in place for early identification of barriers to their learning and participation so they can engage in school activities with all other pupils. We acknowledge the need for high expectations and suitable targets for all children.
We actively encourage equity and equality through our work. No gender, race, creed or ethnicity will be discriminated against. The use of stereotypes under any of the above headings will always be challenged and are proud to celebrate our differences.
In order to achieve this, we have set the following equality objectives for 2023-2026:
- To monitor and analyse pupil achievement by gender, race, socio-economic background and special educational needs
- To remove barriers to learning that those who share a protected characteristic may be affected by
- To raise level of attainment in English and maths for all children
- To review levels of parental and pupil engagement in learning and school life, across all activities, to ensure equity and fairness in access and engagement
The above enables us to comply with the Public Sector Equality Duty (PSED), in line with the Equalities Act 2010.
